Govt dismisses rumours of total lockdown in Delhi from June 18 | India News

NEW DELHI: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) on Sunday dismissed some social media rumours claiming that there would be a “strict lockdown” in Delhi-NCR from June 18 for four weeks in wake of the surge in the coronavirus cases.
In a tweet, the PIB, through its FaceCheck Twitter handle, said the post was fake and that there was no such plan under consideration. The PIB added, “beware of rumour mongers”.

The PIB shared a Facebook post going viral which claimed that the lockdown from June 18 was going to be very strict and that there will be President’s rule in Delhi.
On Friday, Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain had also clarified that the lockdown imposed as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of Covid-19 will not be extended in the national capital.
The Centre on May 30 eased the lockdown restrictions across the country. The lockdown 5.0 has been extended in the containment zones with several relaxations to reopen the economy.
