Kurnool district collector G Veerapandian confirmed the development and appealed to public not to panic as gas leak was limited only to the factory premises and had not spread outside.

Following reports of the gas leak, Kurnool district Collector G Veerapandian, SP Kaginelli Fakeerappa and other senior officials of the district administration rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation.
Speaking to reporters after inspecting the factory premises near Nandyal, collector G Veerapandian said “A 50-year-old employee working at SPY Agros factory died in the gas leak incident and three others were rushed to the government general hospital for medical care.”
G Veerapandian underlined that the gas leak was contained immediately and the district administration had ensured the impact was not felt beyond the factory premises.
“Fire services, medical and health personnel, police and others were immediately rushed to the factory after reports of the gas leak. Immediately, the situation was brought under control and there is no need for the public to panic,” asserted Kurnool district Collector.
Meanwhile, the district administration has ordered an enquiry into the incident.
